About
I'm a Nutt...by name and by state of mind!

I paint with encaustic wax and love everything about it. I love the way it melts, drips, molds, feels and looks. And I love the way I feel when I paint! I have struggled with physical pain and painting with wax has helped me feel better. The process of painting with wax is a multistep process of melting the wax, layering and fusing. This process gives me the chance to not only create something but to pray and meditate as I do. I have found great joy in painting for family and friends and praying for them as I paint.
I began to paint in 2010 with a watercolor class and it opened my mind to a new world! I began to experiment with acrylic and then wax. I have had the privilege of learning many encaustic techniques at The Encaustic Center in Richardson,TX. I've participated in workshops by Bonny Leiboweitz, Cari Hernandez and Elise Wagner.
